"Saving Endangered Species With Real Estate Development"
by Joseph L. Woytowitz, Jr. copyright 2000 p189

To explain this concept, I wrote the 'book' in hope that its message will be communicated and adopted worldwide. I describe in great detail how real estate development can permanently protect, reintroduce and save all terrestrial endangered species in the wild near major human populations, as well as permanently protect and recreate their wildlife habitats. The impossible issues I address with major economic benefits include immediately saving the panda from extinction, permanently saving the tiger in the wild, as well as all 5 species of rhinoceros and reintroducing the cougar, wolf and a herd of reincarnated woolly mammoths back to the NE USA.

Covering such areas as an original revolutionary concept, a worldwide implementation plan, reversing the trend of habitat destruction, recreating habitats, connecting isolated habitats, biodiversity, strategic planning, financing, target marketing, architectural engineering, construction, sustainable development, urban planning, eco-tourism, entertainment development, enriching 3rd world nations, motivating real estate developers with wealth and a plea for world leaders / nature groups / developers to adopt this concept. These concept strategies can be implemented globally, while increasing the quality of life's enjoyment to the masses for generations.

The simplicity of all this is just by building buildings differently, as a giant cage all this can be accomplished. Rome was not built in a day, nor was this country, and neither will this, but in the next 20 years we may have another 2 billion people. This book solves the conservation vs. sustainable development puzzle with a concept plan, motivated by economic wealth.

TESTIMONIALS
"Bringing wildlife closer to daily life is a dream that eventually will be realized, because people are innately attracted. It is of course most likely to evolve first through some of the steps you envision. If you can promote the idea through upscale landscape architects and housing developers, this will represent real progress."
Edward Osborne Wilson ~ Harvard Research Professor, World Renown Biodiversity Champion & Two-time Pulitzer Prize Winner

"New ideas should be examined for their potential...I commend you for your passion for saving endangered wildlife while at the same time devising a way to bring large numbers of humans into more direct contact with nature. Perhaps your concept or something like it will be the wave of the future."
Dr. Donald G. Lindburg ~ Zoo Biology, Emeritus, & The San Diego Zoo's Giant Panda Team Leader

"An intriguing concept.., man must do something in order to conserve
wildlife in the future considering the burgeoning human populations... Integrating wildlife closer to society might not be ideal, but may be
our only chance."
Jack Hanna ~ TV Host 'Animal Adventures'

"Thank you for introducing to us this interesting and exciting concept to
save endangered species with real estate development. Hopefully we may in the future be in a position to collaborate with you on this project."
Stewart Hudson ~ Executive Director, The Jane Goodall Institute

"Your ideas for conservation-oriented development are very interesting and useful for those of us who think about community development and management."
Dr. Michael J. Greenberg ~ The Biological Bulletin

"We were certainly pleased to learn of your ideas on combining human housing and wildlife conservation. We wish you luck in implementing your ideas on how to save endangered species."
George C. Williams ~ The Quarterly Review of Biology

"Both interesting and provocative, as well as a significant contribution to a long history of proposals for dense high-rise buildings that would preserve land as wilderness, park space and agriculture."
Professor Kenneth I. Helphand ~ Landscape Journal

"The concepts developed are impressive. I certainly hope that your ideas will become a reality in the future... There is certainly no reason why ecologically oriented developments, with their own managed forests, streams, and ponds could not be as popular as golf-oriented developments.., where urban dwellers can experience and re-connect with the natural environment."
Elliott Maynard, Ph.D. ~ President, Arcos Cielos Research Center

"Offers an innovative, original, yet practical and effective solution to real estate development and the preservation of habitat. He gives a detailed description of the application and benefits.., while making saving endangered species and habitats both possible and practical."
